It's Inevitable

Here's the update folks. Friday: took the day off of work. Went to the hospital. They turned me away because too many women went into spontaneous labor. Walked away feeling a little frustrated and remembered my experience when I went in to have Raegan induced and was turned away. They were too busy all day and could never reschedule. We'll try for Saturday they said.

Saturday: Woke up to a phone call telling me to come in at 9:30. Talked my sis into taking the kids. Arrived at the hospital along with 2 women dilated to 9 cm and one woman needing an emergency c-section. They hooked me up anyway, thinking things with those women would go quickly.

After delivering the c-section and one other birth. They were waiting for the last woman to get things going and do her business. A small flood in second floor erupted and the surgical staff decided to go home. Surgical staff needs to be on hand in case my external version sets me into labor. After being there for 6 hours, they decided to reschedule for Sunday. The Dr. even called in an extra nurse for us.

Sunday: 7:15. Ring, ring. It's the hospital: all beds are full don't come in. Don't call us we'll call you.

Looks like I'll be getting a c-section after all because the longer we wait, the larger the baby gets and the deeper she goes into the birthing canal. Wonder if they'll turn me away with a schuduled c-section? Seems you have to be in serious trauma in order to get into that hospital.

Oy! I'm so sorry! I've never had that miserable of an experience at the hospital. I'd go Out. Of. My. Mind.

You're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope it all goes well...QUICKLY!

Is this Doctors Hospital? Wow, I never got bumped from my scheduled c-sections! I hope they get you in soon!! How irritating.

I bet your next post to this blog will be all about your beautiful baby!!

My advice for c-sections:
Get up as soon as you can and walk around. Yes it will hurt. But it will speed up your healing time.

When you stand up, hold a pillow against your stomach as you stand. The pressure will help.

Don't be a hero. Take your pain meds.

Buy yourself some granny panties. You don't want to mess up your other undies, and granny panties are good for the c-section incision because they go way above the incision line and so the band won't rub against it.

GOOD LUCK!!!
